New Farm Alliance Website is an Extraordinary Resource for Farmers and Consumers

The Farm Alliance of Baltimore City, Baltimore’s network of producers that works to “increase the viability of urban farming and improve access to urban grown foods,” has a new website: The site is extremely intuitive and has information for aspiring farmers, consumers, and existing members alike.

Of particular interest to those in the beginning stages of planning for an urban farm, the Farm Alliance’s Training pages have videos from panel discussions on the major topics in urban farm training: Baltimore City Laws & Resources, Marketing and Business Planning, Urban Soils, and Farming in a Community. The preceding pages also feature downloadable handouts from those sessions, links to speakers’ organizations, and more.

The new site also has a page for each of the Farm Alliance’s eight member farms with information on farm history, where each farm grows and sells, who the farmers are, and how each farm operates. The “Food” section of the website has information on the Farm Alliance’s joint stand on 32nd St. (open starting this Saturday!), individual farm stands, and which local restaurants are most supportive of  Farm Alliance members.

There’s something for anyone with an interest in urban farms or locally produced food on there, so check it out! If you have any suggestions for additional content, let the farm alliance know at
