The American Public Health Association is hosting a series of webinars for people that would like to educate themselves about health, equity, and transportation. The first webinar was held earlier this month, but the presentation slides and a recording of the full session can be accessed at the APHA website.

The second webinar in the seires is entitled “What Role Injury Prevention Plays in Transportation” and will feature information about state efforts to prevent childhood injuries by strengthening young driver’s licensing programs and about the many ways in which health care providers can collaborate with pediatricians to help children to thrive. The webinar will also discuss the “ three ‘Es’ of injury prevention – education, engineering, and enforcement – to keep children safe.”

“What Role Injury Prevention Plays in Transportation” will be held:

Wednesday, July 11th
2-3pm

The third webinar is entitled “What Health Impact Assessments Can Do for Health Inequities” and will address Health Impact Assessments conducted on transportation byways with high poverty and high unemployment rates and the most important problems that plague them: low healthy food availability, lack of safety measures for children, and other equally taxing problems.

“What Health Impact Assessments Can Do for Health Inequities” will be held:

Wednesday, August 22nd
2-3pm
