How Have Large-Scale School Renovations Been Done Before?

In order to support modernization of all Baltimore City schools, advocates need to learn how such an audacious task has been pulled off before.

The Transform Baltimore campaign, the Baltimore Education Coalition, and City Council Education and Youth Committee Chair, Mary Pat Clarke, are hosting a presentation entitled “The Greenville Plan: How 80 Schools Were Built and Renovated in 6 Years,” in which one of the architects of a construction and renovation financing plan similar to Baltimore’s will share what happened in Greenville, South Carolina and how it can work in Baltimore.

The presenter, Brent Jeffcoat, is a bond attorney has been in the field of public finance for 35 years. He will talk about the “Greenville Plan” and the implications it has for advocates working to secure the substantial public funding necessary to improve Baltimore school facilities now.
