Think You Can Improve Regional Transportation Planning? Volunteer with the BRTB

Baltimore Region

The Baltimore Regional Transportation Board, the metropolitan planning organization for our region, is seeking volunteers to serve on its Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and its Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Group (BPAG).

The purpose of the CAC is to “provide independent, region-oriented advice regarding regional transportation planning and related issues” and the BTRB makes sure appointees come from a variety of jurisdictions and have diverse points of view in order to accurately reflect citizen opinion on transportation planning issues. Much more information on serving on the CAC, and instructions for submitting an application, are available here.

The purpose of the BPAG is to give advice to the BPAG about how the region can become more walkable or bikable. It is made up of representatives from local governments, state agencies, and two citizens representing the interests of walkers and cyclists. Currently, the BTRB seeks someone who can accurately represent pedestrian interests in the region and help plan for a more walkable Baltimore area. More information about that role and application information are available here.
