Storm drain art has become the new fad in Baltimore, and it has great effects on environmental awareness. In order to prevent people from depositing their garbage in the drains, the attractive images of fish, wildlife and water scenes establishing a direct relationship between the drain and the environment.
This September, you have the opportunity to learn the best practices of storm drain stenciling. The training will cover why storm drains are stenciled, how to properly search for drains, spray paint recommendations, volunteer coordination, how to actually acquire the stencils, as well as a storm drain stenciling demonstration. The presentation will be made by Blue Water Baltimore‘s Assistant Storm Drain Arts Coordinator, Amy Dewan.
