The League of Women Voters will host a forum on Tuesday, October 9th to discuss two very important issues that will appear on November’s ballot: the Maryland Marriage Equality Act and the Maryland Dream Act.

For those unfamiliar with these issues, the Marriage Equality Act passed this year to approve same-sex marriage in the state of Maryland, but will only take effect with a majority Yes vote on the November ballot’s Question 6.  The Dream Act allows a certain category of hardworking students to qualify for in-state tuition in the state of Maryland regardless of their immigration status, and will only take effect with a majority Yes vote on the November ballot’s Question 4.

The discussion on these controversial ballot initiatives will take place:

Tuesday, October 9th
7pm-9:10pm
Morgan State University, Student Union Theater
1700 East Cold Spring Lane
Baltimore, MD 21251

The Dream Act will be discussed between 7pm-8pm, and the Marriage Equality Act will be discussed between 8:10pm and 9:10pm.  Click here to download a flyer for the event.

Public radio personality Marc Steiner will be moderating the forum. For further information, contact Ruth@cramercrystal.com.
