Have you ever wanted to grow your own fruit but lacked the training to do so?  Well, there is now a workshop that will teach you how to grow native and easy-to-grow fruits in your backyard!  This workshop, sponsored by University of Maryland Extension and Baltimore Orchard Project, aims to help people grow their own food and become more self-sufficient.  Experts will teach you all about which plants grow best in Central Maryland as well as show you how to properly maintain your garden area and tell you how to deal with pests and common diseases that may plague your garden.  In addition to the knowledge you will gain from this workshop there will also be samples of paw paw ice cream, an ice cream made from a paw paw fruit.

Registration is now open, and the cost is only $15, so be sure to ensure your place in this valuable class.  This hands-on workshop will take place on Sunday, November 4th from 12:30-5:30pm and will be taught by several experts who have experience working with fruit-bearing plants.
