Since late April many communities have been participating in the Mayor’s Clean Community Competition, in which neighborhoods that signed up have continuously kept their areas clean through the summer in order to possibly win awards. The competition closes this month, and winners will be announced on the morning of the Mayor’s Fall Cleanup on Saturday, October 27th. There will a total of four first place winners receiving $5,000 for their neighborhood and four second place winners receiving. $1,000. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at City Hall at 8:30am on the 27th.
To participate in the Mayor’s Fall Cleanup from 9am-1pm, you must register by calling 311. Participants are asked to stack their debris at designated areas after they have registered. It is important to note that collection areas must be specified by communities and not the pick up crew. Limited supplies will be provided to participants on a first come first serve basis so be sure to register early.
