The City Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are offering a free opportunity to learn about a tool that measures public health outcomes. Health Impact Assesments (HIAs) evaluate the effects of a specific government (or non-governmental) program on the health of a population.
During the training you will learn:
- How and for what [HIAs] are being used
- How city, county, and state agencies; health departments, planning departments, transportation departments; and non-profits across the country and in Baltimore City are informing the course of major decisions based on the outcomes of HIAs.
- How integral authentic community engagement is to the strength of the HIA.
