Youth Gardening Project? Apply for the 2012 Subaru Healthy Sprouts Awards

Do you work with youth and gardening?  You could win an award for your project!  The National Gardening Association (NGA) and Subaru Inc. will be sponsoring the 2012 Subaru Healthy Sprouts Awards. These awards will be presented to schools and community organizations that provide local gardening project opportunities to at least 15 children between the ages of 3 and 18.

This year’s grant packages include:

  • Gift certificate of $400 to the Gardening with Kids catalog and online store
  • NGA’s Eat a Rainbow Kit, which includes numerous taste education and nutrition lessons
  • Set of hand tools
  • Three pairs of child-sized gloves
  • NGA curriculum package
  • Plantcam to assist in documenting the growth and changes of your garden

Applications from eligible participants must be submitted by Wednesday, October 31st, 2012. Winners will be notified via email on November 30th, 2012 and listed on www.kidsgardening.org. Awards will be distributed in December 2012.
