What will your community look like with the new zoning code? Will there be apartments? Single-family residences? Businesses? The City has spent the last several years doing the first full re-write of Baltimore City’s Zoning Code in a process the Planning Department has called TransForm Baltimore. And, it looks like Baltimore may be “transformed.”
The TransForm Baltimore process has reached its final stages, as the document was introduced to the City Council on October 22nd. This is the last time public input will be sought before the new code becomes the permanent plan for our communities. You may submit comments or give testimony, to help ensure that the code includes mechanisms to support mixed use areas with quality housing and street level shopping and businesses. Review the full bill and all related maps and charts at the TransForm Baltimore website.
Send your written testimony by email to ZoningCode@baltimorecity.gov and by mail to 417 E. Fayette St. 8th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202.
