Attend Rally for Fair Housing

The HOME Act will end discrimination for tenants with regards to source of income. Source of income includes, money from lawful employment, alimony, disability payments, and housing vouchers. CPHA has been at the forefront of efforts to pass this legislation at the state level and in Baltimore County.

Late last year the HOME Act was proposed for Baltimore City. It recently passed through the Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, but landlords are asking for amendments that would weaken this important legislation.

CPHA and other advocates are holding a rally to ask that the City Council pass this bill without amendments. The organizers are asking attendees to wear yellow and bring signs in support of fair housing. For more information click here.

The rally will be held:

Monday, March 11
Charles St and Fayette St, Downtown Baltimore

In addition to CPHA the following organizations are supporting the HOME Act:

ACLU of Maryland
Baltimore Chapter, NAACP

Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership
BRIDGE Maryland, Inc.
Citizens Planning and Housing Association
Community Development Network of Maryland
Disability Rights Maryland
