For close to 65 years, CPHA has been a place neighbors could turn to get answers and to get help.  The Resource Center for Neighborhoods fields hundreds of calls every year from community leaders who need information or assistance.

"How do we get more people to come to our meetings?" "We want to show a movie in the park but we don't have the right equipment." "We'd like to get grant money but we don't have a 501(c)(3).  Should we apply for one?" "My neighbors are new to the community and never put their trash out on time. It's causing problems for the entire block.  What can we do?" These are just a few of the calls received every week at the Resource Center for Neighborhoods.

Leadership Development

Real Time Community Change (RTCC) is a results based small grants program developed by the Rensselaerville Institute of New York.  RTCC is designed to encourage resident leadership and grassroots neighborhood change by directly engageing residents in improving their own communities.  Residents are given an opportunity to develop and implement neighborhood change strategies in "real time" - 6 months - with the assistance of a coach and a small grant up to $4000.

Leadership and Community Building Fellowship - This nine month program takes small teams through a unique skill building program.  Visit the Leadership and Community Building Fellowship page for more information.

Tip Sheets

CPHA has Tip Sheets that provide tips on Youth and Education, Law Making and Enforcing, Effective Outreach, Organizing, Crime and Safety, and Housing and Sanitation.

The Community Equipment Bank & Resource Library

The Community Equipment Bank provides a "lending library" of key resources for community associations from digital cameras to bull-horns.

Resource Library - The Resource Center for Neighborhoods has an extensive library of key resources for community groups and computers available every day for neighborhood leaders to use.

Self-Help Handbook

Self-Help Handbook - In 1982, CPHA created the Self Help Handbook to provide a useful tool to community groups for identifying potential neighborhood projects and resources. The updates are now available.
