Baltimore Neighborhood Organizers Network

CPHA is coordinating a group of organizers who do neighborhood-level and advocacy organizing in Baltimore City. The goal of the group is to provide professional development and networking opportunities to improve communication and increase collaboration between the 100+ outreach and organizing staff in Baltimore.

The group met every couple of months in 2011 and 2012 for brown-bag lunches at different locations around the city. There were speakers at some meetings, and other meetings were dedicated to brainstorming solutions to common problems.  There was always time for attendees to interact and get to know each other.

This group is on hiatus in 2013 due to time constraints of CPHA staff.

In the 70’s a group of Baltimore organizers had a similar network for a brief amount of time, and another attempt at an organizers network started in the late 90’s.   In April 1998, 23 Baltimore neighborhood organizers met and determined to meet regularly for networking and brainstorming and collaboration.  This group, led by Betty Robinson while employed by CPHA, went on a bit of a hiatus in the mid-2000’s.  The first revival meeting of this group occurred in October 2011.

To join the networking meetings, please contact us and tell us about your organization and the outreach or organizing work you are involved with.

These organizations have been invited to our meetings.  If yours isn’t on the list, please contact CPHA to join the invitation list.
